How Many Men You Know Have Sipped a Rainbow? (2002)
Artist Note: Henri Coulette was my poetry teacher at Cal State (Los Angeles). With his Writers' Workshop colleague, Phil Levine, teaching at Fresno State, they has connections enough to get me a two-year Graduate Fellowship into this prestigious writing center in Iowa City. Henri's "aside" in class which I cherish the most has little to do with poetry:
"Write every poem as if it were your last."
Watercolor, gel pens, Butterfly folded pen, pointed brush on 5 x 11" Arches paper.
Text: "How many men you know have sipped a rainbow?"
Publications &: Exhibitions: About a dozen
